Gallery 5+5

GALLERY 5+5 Urban, sleek, simple, and sophisticated. This art gallery, located in an old converted hotel and flop house, is a vital addition to the culture and community of the burgeoning heart of San Diego. The city's downtown is growing quickly: Living units have more than doubled in the last ten years, and so has the hunger for culture relevance and authenticity. Gallery 5+5 was commissioned as an adaptive reuse project to complement San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter history. It balances the distinction of the 75 year old historic structure, while offering flexibility for an evolving contemporary neighborhood. the living units downtown have more than doubled in the last ten years so has San Diego's demand for culture. It's nice to see building owner's and clients commissioning an adaptive reuse project that complements San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter history. One of the goals of the project was to maintain the distinction of the 75 year old historic structure while providing a new contemporary blank canvas for the emerging San Diego.
